Cabaret Fan Tutti

The theme of this show is about cultural diversity and family. Passionate Italo-Australian performer Teresa shares her experiences of growing up in Australia in an old fashioned Italian household. With immigration occuring worldwide everyone can relate to themselves or others trying to fit in. There are challenges in the home itself, then there is school, uni, work, the big wide world. Teresa challenges people to look at their own bias’ and reclaims a few ethnic slurs put upon her in the past.

The topic of cultural integration is of great interest and importance in every decade and quite poignant today. We can be brought closer together by acknowledging our differences and celebrating our similarities.

The show offers a diversity of music styles show casing Teresa's extensive range of vocal ability by jumping from one style to the next. She also sings in Italian. Each song strengthens each story told.

This smorgasbord of variety encompasses :
- classic musicals by Sondheim, Cy Coleman, Jule Styne
-Corny Italian Style 1950’s lounge night club tunes like ‘That’s amore’, ‘Quando, Quando’, ’Mambo Italiano’, ‘Sway’,’ Volare’),
- traditional Italian folk songs and opera
-quirky jazz (My Heart Belongs to Daddy, I want to be evil, Do you know the way to ‘make Bolognese’).

The script was originally devised with Tony Sheldon (Toni award winner for Broadway's Pricilla) and directed by Christopher Hurrell.

The performance will suit most venues but is ideal in a ‘cabaret’ atmosphere with table seating.

Cabaret Fan Tutti has seen many incarnations since 2002.

It has played at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, been a sold out hit in several Sydney venues and has toured on Ocean Liners.

The shows exists in 15, 30, 45, 60 or 75 minutes.
A Pianist, pianist/singer, backing tracks and a seven piece band has supported Cabaret Fan Tutti.

Over the years the show has grown and come full circle with Teresa  really connecting to her roots by actually living in Rome for a few years as an adult. There are many insightful, tender, funny stories told.
